Pushpendra Panel 0.1.21

Website settings now have a side menu with everything in one place, like other control panels: Overview, Domains, Directory, URL rewrite, Config & PHP version, SSL, Git, Composer, Reverse proxy, Limit access, Hotlink protection, Maintenance mode, WAF, Logs and Web server config.

New website features:

  • Directory:
    • Document root with a folder picker.
    • Default documents (for example home.php before index.php).
    • Anti-XSS base directory limit (open_basedir) on/off.
    • Access log on/off.
  • Limit access:
    • Password access (HTTP Basic Auth) with several users. Passwords are stored only as hashes.
    • Block IPs, or allow only certain IPs and ranges.
  • Hotlink protection: stop other sites from embedding your images, videos and files. Your own domains and chosen partner sites are allowed.
  • Maintenance mode: visitors see a "We'll be back soon" page (503), and your own IPs still see the site. SSL renewals keep working.
  • Reverse proxy: send a path such as /api/ to a program on the server (for example a Node.js app).
  • Composer: run install, update or dump-autoload for Laravel and other PHP projects. Composer can be installed from the App Store.
  • Web server config: view the nginx configuration generated for the website.

Your websites, databases, mail and settings are kept during the update.

v0.1.19

stable

Release notes

Pushpendra Panel 0.1.19

  • Git for websites: PHP and static websites have a new Git tab, and the Create Website form has a "Get the files from a Git repository" option.

    • Pull GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or any Git repository into the document root, or into the website folder (for Laravel-style projects).
    • Pull now, or turn on Auto Deploy with a webhook.
    • Optionally run composer install after each pull.
    • Uploads and .env files that are not in the repository are kept.
  • Applications from Git can now be cloned into a folder you choose (default home/<name>). You can see and edit that folder in the File Manager. Leave the path empty to keep the old hidden releases.

  • App Store installs with one click. Software that used to say "apt install …" now has an Install button:

    • Redis (protected with a generated password)
    • Memcached
    • MariaDB
    • The mail stack (Postfix, Dovecot, Rspamd)
    • PowerDNS
    • Fail2ban
    • ClamAV
    • Supervisor
    • UFW, Composer, Git, ImageMagick, FFmpeg, Zip/Unzip and SQLite
  • App Store "Configuration" editor: edit these files right from the store:

    • nginx.conf
    • php.ini for each PHP version
    • redis.conf
    • MariaDB, PostgreSQL (postgresql.conf, pg_hba.conf) and MongoDB settings
    • Postfix and Dovecot
    • Fail2ban jail.local
    • Memcached, ClamAV, Supervisor and PowerDNS settings

Every save is checked first (for example nginx -t or php-fpm -t). If the service does not come back, the previous file is restored automatically, and a backup (.ptpanel.bak) is kept.

  • Installs wait for Ubuntu's automatic updates instead of failing, and refresh the package lists when a package is not found.

Your websites, databases, mail and settings are kept during the update.

v0.1.18

stable

Release notes

Pushpendra Panel 0.1.18

  • Node.js apps from uploaded files: upload your project with the File Manager (zip → Extract), then pick the folder in "Add Node.js project". Git is still available as the other option. Folders that contain a package.json also get a "Deploy as Node.js app" button in the File Manager.
  • A simpler "Add Node.js project" form: the panel reads package.json and fills in the package manager, run command (from your scripts), build step and Node version. The domain can be entered in the same form, and the website and free SSL are set up for you.
  • "Connect domain" on every application (on the app page and in the applications list): enter the domain and the panel creates the website, proxies it to the app and requests SSL.
  • Short step-by-step guides on the application, domain and website screens.
  • Fewer deploy errors:
    • A missing Node.js version is installed automatically.
    • Projects without a lockfile install with npm install instead of failing.
    • A missing "build" script is skipped.
    • A missing "start" script or start file gives a clear message.
    • A .env file in your uploaded folder is used.
    • When an app does not start, the deploy log shows its last output and the port it is actually listening on.
  • Progress bars of finished tasks are green instead of red.

Your websites, databases, mail and settings are kept during the update.

v0.1.17

Release notes

Pushpendra Panel 0.1.17

  • One-click update: the progress window now stays open after you click “Update now” (it used to close right away), and it follows the real upgrade progress. It no longer shows "The upgrade did not complete" when the panel restarts during a successful update, and it never waits forever.
  • Updates and installs no longer fail while Ubuntu's automatic security updates are running — they wait for them to finish, and show apt's real error if something else goes wrong.
  • Website login works from both ptpanel.in and www.ptpanel.in.

Your websites, databases, mail and settings are kept during the update.

Release notes

Pushpendra Panel 0.1.14

  • Our website and update server moved to https://ptpanel.in. Update checks, the install command and the ptpanel CLI now use the new address. The old address keeps redirecting, so nothing breaks either way.
  • New installs: curl -fsSL https://ptpanel.in/install.sh | sudo bash
  • Default nameservers for new DNS zones are now ns1.ptpanel.in / ns2.ptpanel.in (change them in Settings if you use your own).

Your websites, databases, mail and settings are kept during the update.
